Ch 8.5 - Agriculture
"And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned Paradise and said, ‘I need a caretaker.’ So God made a farmer." - Paul Harvey, God Made a Farmer speech
Narrative: Agriculture, especially animal husbandry, has a devastating impact on our environment and CO2 emissions. People need to stop eating meat. Soy and meat substitutes are much healthier and better for the environment.
---------------------------
a. Farming
--------------------------
"Farmers writing romance novels: Her body tensed and quivered as she felt wave after wave surge through it (I probably should have told her about the new electric fence)." - Unknown
“Who cares if farms are becoming a thing of the past! I get my food from the grocery store!” - Average American Consumer
"Old MacDonald had a farm with an oink oink here and a moo moo there, here a cluck there a quack, everywhere a baa baa. And Old Macdonald worked his living *** off from before sunup to after sundown, wore worn out clothes, had no health insurance, and counted every penny. So did Old Macdonald's wife and kids. That is the reality of the old-fashioned family farm. Many of my friends growing up came from this type of farm. They're gone now, except for a few 'hobby farms' with outside sources of money." - Unknown
"Children of my generation were taught to obey the 10 commandments. I'm not sure how much emphasis there is on this today, but it was a big deal in that earlier era. I was a very average student academically, and I was probably a below-average student spiritually. I never fully got the 10 commandments because it troubled me that they were mostly focused on what I should not do. I don't believe a person’s goodness is wholly based on what they don't do. So while I don't contest these Biblical instructions I made a set of commandments about what I will do:
1) I will treat the animals that I husband with respect and dignity, providing them with an environment that allows them to express their instinctive behavior
2) I will study the cycles of nature and learn how not to obstruct them
3) I will implement practices that leave the soil, water, and air better than I found it
4) I will heal the damage that my family's previous farming practices have inflicted on the land that I tend
5) I will provide a comfortable and wholesome life for my family. This includes my biological family and the many at White Oak Pastures that I have come to accept as family
6) I will provide the abundance of our land and herds to produce to nourish those who need and appreciate it
7) I will nurture the village that we live in
8) I will get off my ass seven days a week and work as hard as I can and invest all that I have to make all of this happen
9) I will openly teach what I have learned about these things to those who want to know
I can only come up with 9 commandments, but I can achieve 100% of those 9. That might be better than achieving 70% of the original 10. And while I know they sound like plain common sense and they are, rooted in traditions of American agriculture, they also depart from what has become the norm in modern farming and food production which makes it a radical act to return to." - White Oak Pastures
"Walk alongside us as we steward the Lord's resources." - Unknown Farmer
"Farmers live poor and die rich. (the farm's worth a million bucks but the farmer lives in poverty)" - Unknown
"Behind every successful farmer is a wife who works in town." - Unknown
"Barn and machine shed in good shape. House falling apart." - Unknown
"$200,000 tractor, $200 car" - Unknown
”Know Farmers → Know Food
No Farmers → No Food
Get It?” Unknown - Slogan used to support Dutch Farmer’s fight against their government trying to expropriate 3,000 farms to fight climate change
"1945: Americans grew 45% of their food in their backyard gardens/farms
Today: Americans grow 0.1% of their food in their backyard.
It is insane how disconnected we have become from our food in just 80 years.
We must return" - Carnivore Aurelius
"I have my hands in the dirt almost daily of late. I'm determined to grow as much food as possible in my little backyard. Yesterday I harvested a bunch of celery and carrots, made chicken noodle soup, but gave most of it away to family and neighbors. They wonder why. They don't understand that I'm learning by failure and need a lot of practice. I was never a gardener, but I believe the system is purposely sabotaging the food chain. I tell people failing in the garden is your best teacher of gardening and that if they're ever going to depend on the food they can grow, they better start failing now, before they need it. We learn by our struggles and live by toil. To embrace those struggles is wisdom..." - Unknown
"The tree of liberty is inside the green pepper. There are enough seeds to make hundreds, even thousands more peppers. It cost 7,500% more at the grocery store. In a world where nothing comes free gardening is a revoluationary act. And it's profitable to control what people can create." - Unknown
“The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to." - Deuteronomy 28:8 KJV
"The best farmland in TX is now growing houses, solar farms, fast food joints, Dollar Stores, storage units, HUGE high schools, and football stadiums................. happy farming/eating." - Unknown
"Better to be a free farmer than a slave industrial worker." - Unknown
"67, bought a farm 5 years ago, never bored... (Your list lacks purpose)" - Unknown on 'How to Avoid Being Boring at 60' and why the original article from a gay man was devoid of purpose (just meaningless experiences)
"The difference between industrial scale agriculture and organic farming is night and day. Try growing your own food then tell me what it is actually worth. Industrial ag poisons the ground with herb and pesticide, produces garbage, and is fueled by petrochemical fertilizers. You cannot have liberty without your own food source, so start a real farm. It's the white t shirt way." - Unknown
”Where exactly in the Constitution does it give the goons oversight of eggs and bacon? The Supreme Court just made it up in Wickard vs. Filburn. After reading this case, you'll understand that the elites really think the people are retarded. Cobra!” - Unknown
“This is how they do it: they put a knife to the farmers’ throats. They make sure they don’t get their licenses renewed, they’re plaguing them with new rules and restrictions every day and then offer them a bride [sic], knowing many will take it out of pure desperation. It’s all so vile,” Vlaardingerbroek on Twitter
“The whole idea of the EU was supposed to be about freedom of movement and freedom of workers. This is some next-level USSR stuff,” Vlaardingerbroek on the legality of prohibiting the farmers who agree to give up their lands from starting over again in other EU nations.
"The farmer knows just what to do, for God has given him understanding. A heavy sledge is never used to thresh black cumin; rather, it is beaten with a light stick. A threshing wheel is never rolled on cumin; instead, it is beaten lightly with a flail. Grain for bread is easily crushed, so he doesn’t keep on pounding it. He threshes it under the wheels of a cart, but he doesn’t pulverize it. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, and he gives the farmer great wisdom." - Isaiah 28:26-29 KJV
b. Hunger/Starvation
--------------------------
"It is hard for most Americans to imagine having their meal interrupted..." - Unknown
"There are only nine meals between mankind and anarchy" - Alfred Henry Lewis
"After nine missed meals, a man will kill for food." - Isaac Asimov
“My grandfather lived through the great depression. They say he could cut a slice of ham so thin you could see daylight through it.” - Unknown
"If you knew what I knew, you would pile [food] up in the middle of the floor, throw a cloth over it and walk around it!" - Harold Lee on Food Storage
"A lot of people have no clue that agriculture contributes about 33% of all the emissions of the world. We can't get to net-zero, we don't get this job done unless agriculture is front and center as part of the solution. So all of us understand here the depths of this mission." - John Kerry
"Actually, lives depend on people having enough food to eat. Global Warming is not about climate. It is about population reduction through famine. It is genocide." - Unknown
"Obesity is a choice. Starvation is not." - Unknown
"History shows all the enslaved had guns... the Cherokee and Apache, Jonestown, Japaneese Americans, the Ukrainians during Homolodor, the **** in Nazi Germany all had guns. They were _starved_... that's where this all goes... when the Book says 'caused all' to recieve a mark - lest you not be able to buy or sell - that's what it means." - Unknown
“The single most effective weapon the communists have ever used is starvation. Set aside a five gallon bucket of beans and a five gallon bucket of rice for every family member. That will allow you to avoid the first rush to the gulag.” - Unknown
"Hunger is the best seasoning" - Unknown on why you need herbs to add flavor
"WWIII includes the war on food availability. Re-making humans after the image of the beast ( behaymaw, beast of the field ), forcing a genetic change from Homo sapiens into Homo chimaera. As Yuval Noah Harari stated "humans are hackable animals." If the human body is a computer then DNA is the code. Modifying human DNA is done through mRNA franken foods and vaccines. The train derailment releasing toxic dioxins and other nasty chemicals that don't break down easily in East Palestine, OH was meant to poison water and agricultural lands. Lots of farms and homesteaders in that area. Carbon sequestering pipelines cross cross intentionally over farms and ranches in Kansas, Ohio, and the Dakotas and eminent domain is threatened to achieve this objective. Then you have the mass buy-ups of farmlands by oligarchs and the CCP. Then in Texas cattle is under attack by bovine tuberculosis and humans and cows can cross infect each other. And then there is the ticks causing alpha-gal syndrome that sickens meat eaters and the globalist hate meat eaters as meat is protein dense and protein is required for overall health and a strong immune system. And of course the constant harassing of Amish farmers who do farming and agriculture the natural way without dependence on GMO big pharma and big ag chemicals and bio-toxins. Anyone paying attention? Forget it, who won the game by the way?" - Unknown
"You can't build a peaceful world on empty stomachs and human misery" - Norman Borlaug
"I look around at the people where America goes to shop and I think it's fair to say that it's going to take a lot of motivation to industrialize the labor force. Sadly, hunger remains the greatest motivator." - Unknown
"In the old days when the Russians were lining up even for bread, a woman was only two spots from being served when she heard a very loud fart from the back of the queue. She gave up her spot, walked to the back, looked at the man in the eye and said, 'comrade....where did you get the beans from?'" - Unknown
"I was living in Moscow when the system collapsed and there was little to no food in the shops. People were so desperate and angry that even power was afraid of them. There must be food, or else. On Moscow TV I saw, live, a woman in a hard currency shop literally shouting in anger at Yeltsin while he rocked back on his heels and blinked, saying nothing. The military occupied central Moscow. The situation began to be truly frightening. Farmers refused to deliver food because they were not being paid for it. Collapse. The system fell. It had to." - Unknown
"6 foods to keep you from starving - good returns/sustenance/preserving
1) Potato - Ireland 1845 famine due to lack of potatoes (grow mix to prevent disease)
3 sisters (corn/beans/squash that can be planted together - beans climb corn w/ squash on bottom)
2) Corn - top 3 plant-based food sources (rice/wheat) can be grown on a small scale upright
3) Beans - seeds can be stored easily/ grow vertically, so you fit more in a small area
4) Squash/Pumpkin - make you feel full if you feel hungry
5) Cabbage - grows fast and head makes a lot of food (fermented to saurkraut/kamichi)
6) Tomatoes - add flavor/dried/pickled, easy to grow (no ethane gas to ripen)
Root vegetables (onions, carrots, turnips) Also, add herbs and spices for flavor! Radishes, garlic, rosemary, parsley, spinach, cucumbers / Fruit trees (guava, lemon, orange, peach, pear) / Blackberries" - Unknown
"And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." - John 6:35
c. Meat
--------------------------
There is a war on meat. Bugs are just a stepping stone. The elites laugh at what they can get people to do. It makes them feel powerful when the masses do stupid things just because the people in power told them to.
“Barbecue may not be the road to world peace, but it's a start.” – Anthony Bourdain
"Before there was cattle farming in north america. There where millions of Bison that never farted. Anyone that buys into the climate change narrative is incredibly naive" - Unknown
"The bison used to roam the plains in numbers as high as 60 million, helping sustain indigenous people by providing food, clothing, shelter, and fuel." - Melia Robinson, Business Insider, pictured in the article is a giant pile of bison skulls from the 1800's waiting to be made into fertilizer
"92m cows in US today from 130m in 1976. Compare that to the 60m bison, 45m antelope, 40m whitetail deer, 10m mule deer, 10m elk, 2m bighorn sheep, 1m moose that used to live in North America. All were ruminents producing the same amount of methane. Also consider the 26m elephants alive in the 1800's vs 400k today." - Unknown
"As of 2022, it was estimated that there were about 30.1 million beef cows and only about 9.4 million dairy cows." - M. Shahbandeh, Apr 26, 2023, Statista
"Shoutout to cows for eating vegetables, so I don't have to. They're able to detox and break down the nutrients from plants into their most bioavailable form so that when you're eating steak and liver, you're getting the most nutritious version of vegetables in the world. They can also detox the pesticides, unlike a plant that just bathes in it. Magical." - Carnivore Aurelius
"Cattle are biological machines that turn something humans cannot digest (grass) into high-quality protein (beef). It's a beautiful thing only a monster would want to take away from us." - Unknown
"If you're worried about pesticides eat steak. Studies who that when cows fed glyphosate they can detox it. God bless cows. They are magical creates and critical to a healthy future." - Carnivore Aurelius
"1 Cow produces over 550 lbs of beef, 30 lbs of organs, and 100 lbs of fat. That's over 1 million extremely nutritious calories. Assuming an American eats 2,000 calories a day, just 1 cow can feed 1 person for 500 days. Please tell me again how this is unsustainable." - Carnivore Aurelius
"Cows literally make milk. rib eye and beef liver out of grass, and then they poop out psychedelic mushrooms. And you don't believe God exists?" - carnivoreaurelius
realmilk.com - website on where to get raw milk
"If you think about it chickens are a gateway drug to becoming a conspiracy theorist. And here's the reason why I say that. Because you're going to get chickens right. You're going to love having chickens. You're going to taste the eggs and you're going to recognize like the one I just grabbed right here. You're going to realize the taste difference. You're going to start looking into why they taste different? Why do they look different? Why is the yolk darker? Then you're going to do that and you're going to realize because they aren't factory farmed. Then you're going to realize what factory farmed eggs look like. And then you're going to look at other foods. What happens when you look at other foods? You're going to start baking your own sourdough because you realize bread has terrible preservatives in it. It's terrible for you. There's a million ingredients. So then you're going to be a sourdough person. Then you're going to be a garden person. Which means you're going to try and separate yourself from the food system a little bit. After you do that you're going to realize some of the medicinal properties in food and in your garden like garlic and honey and all of those things. And then you're going to start feeling a little skeptical about the pharmaceutical world. And ultimately what I'm saying if you go to Tractor Supply and look at the cute little chicks just realize you'll ultimately become a conspiracy theorist if you do so. But, the eggs are good." - Bandrhomestead
”I’m a small farmer; I wouldn’t feed this corporate warehouse-produced, toxic protein to my dogs. If you depend on this shite to survive, you are fooked. Find a local farmer, learn to raise rabbits, chickens whatever. Save yourself, dont be a slave, you MUST free yourself from the corporate food supply chain.” - Unknown
"if native americans can receive a religious exemption for peyote use, and rastafarians can receive a religious exemption for cannabis use, why can't the amish receive a religious exemption for naturally raised and harvested food?" - Unknown, on an Amish farm being raided for not complying with FDA regulations.
"Because food that doesn't kill you and enrich Big Pharma is not allowed. Let one man begin selling healthy real food and before you know it everyone will want it." - Unknown
"Let's get one thing straight. The bird flu didn't kill millions of chickens. One bird supposedly tested positive, like Covid, and the entire flock was killed. Infected or not. You can bet your bottom dollar that the vaccines they intend to load these chickens with has nothing to do with chickens. The target is thec onsumers of the chickens. It appears chickens are the "new form of needle". Regulations and bogus testing killed millions of chickens. The vaccine injected into the chicken makes its way to the person eating it. Not what you would ever want. This is Covid Vaxxx part II." - Unknown
"Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things." - Genesis 9:3 KJV
d. Soy/Veganism
--------------------------
veg·e·tar·i·an - noun - Ancient tribal slang for the village idiot who can't hunt, fish, or ride.
"Veganism isn’t a diet. It’s a form of fasting." - Dr. Natasha McBride
"If you [Robert Downey Jr.] look better as a drug addict than you do as a vegan, I think nature is telling you something." - Raw Egg Nationalist

"You mean pressed meat parts, cardboard fiber filler and soy laced bread aren't food? Humm no wonder why bugs and animals won't touch that stuff." - Unknown
"dogs will eat sweaty socks & their own sh*t, but refuse to eat fake meat. tells me everything I need to know." - Carnivore Aurelius
"It was actually a common known trick amongst Japanese housewives to feed their husbands tofu (soy) in order to decrease their fertility and virility when they feared infidelity or pregnancy." - Unknown
"My wife had never seen 'Soylent Green' with Charlton Heston so a few nights ago we watched it. The world in the movie is basically 99% of the people are dirt poor and 1% are filthy rich. Of course the big thing in the movie is that "Soylent Green" is being made from people instead of the ocean plankton the government said it was. Anyway, in one scene the detective, played by Heston, takes a steak from a rich man's apartment who's murder he's investigating. He brings it back to an old friend of his to share it with, and upon eating it the friend starts crying, remembering 'how he used to eat like this all the time.' I sometimes wonder if these evil bastards watched movies like that and thought it would be funny if they made them come true." - Unknown
"A vegan diet does not mean it's ethical." - Unknown
"You ever plow a field Summer? To plant the quinowa, or sorghum, or whatever the hell it is you eat? You kill everything on the ground and under it. You kill every snake, every frog, every mouse, mole, vole, worm, quail. You kill them all. So the question is, how cute does an animal have to be before you care if it dies to feed you." - Kevin Costner, Yellowstone
"I went through a big stage of my life where I thought, you know, maybe it would be better to be a vegetarian, so I researched it. In no uncertain terms did I research it. Let's say this represents one cow, which will keep me in food for, let's say, a month. Now that cow needs this much land and food. Well, you can imagine, that cow needs x by x amount of land, and you can grow trees in it. Around that cow, you can have goannas, kangaroos, wallabies. You can have every other single Australian animal in and around that cow. If was a vegetarian, to feed me for that month, I need this much land, and nothing else can grow there. Herein lies our problem. If we level that much land to grow rice and whatever, then no other animal could live there except for some insect pest species. Which is very unfortunate." - Steve Irwin on Have you ever considered becoming a vegetarian?
"The current federal government would like to abolish animal husbandry and switch the diet in Germany to vegetables and oatmeal, it's also a fact that over 90 percent of people in Germany still buy and eat meat." - Hubert Keller, head of group sales at the large butcher Westfleisch and also a member of the board of the Meat Industry Association (VDF) in Germany
"We've spent literally thousands of years developing varieties of useful crops that offer the best resistance to local conditions which include diseases, pests, weather, and soil condition. Money does indeed grow on trees, but only for those who know which side of the hill to plant them on. It doesn't pay to be greedy and plant both sides of the hill, then whine when things don't go your way." - Unknown, on why centrally planned farms don't work
"Food Pyramid for 2023:
- Anti-Depressants
- Oatly/Soy Milk
- Bugs
- Seed Oils
- Micro Plastics" - Unknown
"You are what you eat." - Unknown
“In America rates of home cooking have fallen by half since the 1960s. As rates of home cooking decline rates of obesity go up. Poor women who cook have healthier diets than rich women who don’t.” - Unknown
