Ch 8.2 - Pollution
"Only after the last tree is cut down, the last water is poisoned, the last animal is destroyed... Only then will you realize you cannot eat money." - Cree Indian Prophecy
Narrative: Our water, air, and beaches are clean and safe. Federal agencies oversee and protect our environment. You have nothing to worry about.
---------------------------
a. Water
---------------------------
"If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.” – Loren Eiseley
"Water is the source of all life. Seven tenths of this earth's surface is water. Whyyyy, do you realize that 70% of you is water? And as human beings, you and I need fresh, pure water to replenish our precious bodily fluids. Are you beginning to understand?" - Unknown
"Water is the oil of the 21st century.” Andrew Liveris, CEO of DOW Chemical Company, The Economist magazine, August 21, 2008
"Billionaire T. Boone Pickens owned more water rights than any other individuals in America, with rights over enough of the Ogallala Aquifer to drain approximately 200,000 acre-feet (or 65 billion gallons of water) a year. But ordinary citizen Gary Harrington cannot collect rainwater runoff on 170 acres of his private land." - Unknown
"Wall Street banks like Citigroup and multibillionaires are buying up water sources all over the world at unprecedented pace. Simultaneously, governments are moving fast to limit citizens’ ability to become water self-sufficient." - Unknown
"Pay attention, water is poison for lizard people." - Unknown
"Water economy is political. That's what should concern you. It's about control. Artificial scarcity is a profitable business. It's like they want us dependent or dead or something. Unfortunately, we only have 326 million trillion gallons of water left." - Unknown
"Many Democrats buy oceanfront mansions just to study the problem." - Unknown
The real issue is wasting water, diverting it, or spoiling it through poor practices. There's probably plenty of fresh water in what is left of the Amazon no one talks about. We don't hear what isn't wasted.
"Saw it way too often on Sierra Pacific timber land in N CA. Drug cartels growing high end pot before it became legalized on SP and and using pesticides banned in the US to kill all ground rodents. The poison leached into nearby streams killing off wildlife large and small. My Airedale drank stream water and about died." - Unknown
"I don't understand it, either. There are YouTube videos galore of rainwater collection systems and all the guys are like, 'Just don't tell anybody.' It's bizarre." - Unknown
"Nothing makes vegetables grow like rain water. Ground well water does not do it at all. Some states and municipalities have banned the collection of rainwater. Without any explanation. You should build the largest rainwater collection system you can bury in the ground. It has saved me a number of times during droughts." - Unknown
"The benefits of being on your own septic & your own good well are increasing every year." - Unknown
Collecting rainwater can help conserve resources and can keep energy costs down. In addition rainwater also reduces stormwater runoff, helps with watering the lawn, and is a good backup source for water in emergencies.
"Toxins found in tap water:
- Pesticide/fungicides/herbercides
- Chlorine/Fluoride/Perchlorate/perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA)
- Dioxins/Polychlorinated biphenyls
- Pharamceautical drug residue's
- Radioactive substances/Heavy Metals
Tap water will slowly poison you" - Unknown
"I filter my water from the municipal supply three times before I drink it or cook with it, and that still doesn't get out the cocaine and the birth control pills... but at least the calcium and the heavy metals are reduced or eliminated." - Unknown
b. Pollution
---------------------------
"Climate change is a lie. The real issue is the trash and litter everywhere. It's about time to talk about this. What a shame to have a plastic vortex the size of France in your oceans. It's like having a giant booger hanging out of your nose. Just digusting." - Unknown
"Mr. McGuire : I just want to say one word to you. Just one word.
Benjamin : Yes, sir.
Mr. McGuire : Are you listening?
Benjamin : Yes, I am.
Mr. McGuire : Plastics" - The Graduate
“If it’s true that plastic is not degradable then the planet will simply incorporate plastic into a new paradigm: the Earth + plastic.” - George Carlin (long, but well worth the watch)
"Most couples may have to use assisted reproduction by 2045." - Shanna Swan on how chemicals in plastics are causing our fertility to decline
"So let me get this straight. I go to the grocery store to buy a pound of sliced ham in a plastic bag, a loaf of bread in a plastic bag, a gallon of milk in a plastic jug, a pack of napkins in plastic wrap, a store-made salad in a plastic tub, a plastic bottle of mustard, a plastic bottle of ketchup, but they won't give me a plastic bag to carry it home because the plastic bag is bad for the environment?!" - Unknown
"I'm old enough to remember when everything was not plastic. Paper bags, cans, bottles, and waxed cardboard cartons were just fine. We were actually greener back then." - Unknown
"Remember glass bottles? glass is great cuz it is inert. no hormones unlike plastic." - Unknown
"So easy to virtue signal from your Tesla on your iPhone, eating takeout in a non-recyclable container. The problem is not plastic. The problem is the unholy alliance between the treehuggers, third-worlders, and the refuse exporter companies. Not a single 'eco' terrorist, including Greta Thunberg, has ever complained about any of them." - Unknown
"It is green to 'recycle' plastic bottles and containers, right? You put that into the recycling bin and whoosh, it is wisked away to the cuddly ecologically sound recycling plant, right? You kept it out of the nearby landfill, you did good! LOL, in true lefty fashion it is all about group think circle jerk feeling good without ever actually thinking things through and considering ramifications. Shockingly! some of the content of those recycle bins end up being shipped to Asia (sometimes we will even pay them to take it). Some of that massive amount of plastic containers and bottles shipped overseas ends up in...wait for it...the ocean." - Unknown
"The United States exported 1.21 billion pounds of scrap plastic in 2021, a decrease of roughly 167 million pounds compared with the previous year. The volume of scrap plastic exported by the U.S. has fallen considerably since 2015, when shipments totaled 4.5 billion pounds." - Unknown
"In 2020 the US exported 42 million metric tons of plastic waste to Bangladesh, Laos, Ethiopia, Senegal, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and India. China's 'National Sword' law in 2018 made it illegal to import plastic waste into that country. That way, they can dump it into the ocean." - Unknown
"Sailed out of new York/sandy hook on the way to Bermuda, one of the most amazing things to see is the garbage barge that passed us but off to the beam a mile or so. The thing so huge, with a cloud of sea gulls and a small army of front end loaders pushing sh*t off the side into the water on its way out. A mountain of trash, seemed like a mile long. Several hours later we passed lots of crab bouys, eeww." - Unknown
"Those 'dirty Asian countries' are paid by the US and Canadia to take their trash. That way, they can dump it into the ocean, but its their fault. US/West literally exports their plastic garbage to countries in Asia. 605,000 US tons is what the US exports a year." - Unknown
"10 rivers that carry 93 percent of that trash are the Yangtze, Yellow, Hai, Pearl, Amur, Mekong, Indus and Ganges Delta in Asia, and the Niger and Nile in Africa. The Yangtze alone dumps up to an estimated 1.5 million metric tons of plastic waste into the Yellow Sea." - Unknown
"Indonesia would easily be in the top two.....they only disregard nature more than themselves. They are the most unhealthy population in asia.....this disregard stretches to nature. They have no strict enviro policies and cant even manage their rubbish. Case in point is Bali. Ex Governer Pastika had an american man approach the govt and offer to process all of the rubbish in Serangan (the islands main dump...you can smell it from the other side of the island). But Pastika wanted 10% of the profits. So the American withdrew his offer and now Bali is wallowing in it owns rubbish. Its a ****hole that is becoming more ****ty year by year. And they are worried about carbon?.....pffffffft" - Unknown
"Bali after a rain storm, it is so bad that coming in 5 miles SE in a boat you could walk to land. Dog poop floats the best. Yet in 1974 it was so pristine they used banana leaves for plates and ate with fingers. Then monkeys ate the food covered banana leaves and the poop fertilized the ground.." - Unknown
"Because of all the plastic generated by asia and the pacific islands, it is necessary that europe and canada stop using plastic and gas. and coal. and wood. and meat. love and stewardship." - greta
"It's literally an out of sight, out of mind thing. We send this stuff to countries with lighter environmental regulations than we have." - Unknown
"When I was young, there were 3 'R's... For some reason both reduce and reuse have been forgotten..." - Unknown
"We have very real and ACTIVE things we can do to help the environment, governments choose not to. Cleaning up the oceans, beaches, forests, motorways, neighborhoods, etc. Don't litter. Recycle / Nature conservation / Clean Energy (Nuclear) / Ending wars / Protecting endangered species" - Unknown
"The first, and the most obvious, way to reduce plastic accumulation is NOT TO BE AN *******. Teach people to walk ten steps to a freaking trash can. And have the trash can in place and emptied the night before." - Unknown
c. Toxic Waste
---------------------------
"It's just a little bit of heavy metals in your food.
It's just a little bit of benzene in your sunscreen.
It's just a little bit of chlorine in your water.
It's just a little bit of fluoride in your toothpaste.
It's just a little bit of PFOAs in your non-stick pans.
It's just a little bit of fragrance in your perfume.
It's just a little bit of aluminum in your deodorant.
It's just a little bit of phthalates in your plastic toys.
But when does 'just a little bit' become too much for the body to handle?" - Unknown
“It's funny to me that people think it's ‘germs’ causing them to fall ill and not the pesticides, herbicides, larvicides, rodenticides, glyphosate, Teflon, Fluoride, plastics, VOC's, Seed & Vegetable oils, Artificial sweeteners/flavours/colours, chemicals, GMO's, antibiotics, EMF, radiation, toxins, parasites, carcinogens & negative energy they encounter everyday in their food, drink, water supply, skin & body care products & environment.” - @ryan_martin_
"The air at Ground 0 is safe." - Christie Todd Whitman
"Transportation Sec. is one of those jobs where you never know the guys name IF HE DOES HIS JOB WELL" - Unknown
"Why are they being hush-hush? They're not out here supporting, they're not out here answering questions. For three days, we didn't even know what was on the train. I have three grandbabies. Are they going to grow up here in five years and have cancer? So those are all factors that play on my mind." - Unknown
"If there's nothing in the air and nothing in the water, why are people still getting sick?" - Unknown
"Virus with a 99% survival rate? Wear a mask for 2 years. Toxic chemicals in the air? Nothing to see here, go home, it's fine. Ignore the guys in the hazmart suits and the respirators, they're just required by their jobs. You're fine (if farm animals, pets, birds, wild animals, fish etc die, it has nothing to do with the toxins we rained down on you). Swearsies." - Unknown
"Yeah, double whammy. Whenever spills happen, it's always worse than they admit. That's a rule." - Unknown
"BREAKING: Inhabitants of E. Palestine OH erect Ukrainian flag in attempt to gain assistance from federal government." - Unknown
”There are two kinds of people in the world. Killers and diers. Most of us are diers.” - White Noise, movie about a train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio filmed shortly before the actual train derailment mentioned above.
"Let’s derail hazmat trains everywhere in North America so that we have a plausible deniality for all these cancers, heart attacks and sudden deaths caused by the ABV." - Unknown
"Correct, trains derail more often than you'd expect. You just never heard much about it until this year. There are companies that exist primarily to recover derailed trains. They use D8 CATS with sidebooms and big excavators with winches between the tracks.” - SamAdams
“Lying leftist talking points detected. That average of 1,475 train derailments includes everything that is considered an 'FRA-reportable event', meaning every time a railcar jumps off the rails and hits the ground. Small, slow incidents of derailment happen all the time, like when a crew is switching cars in a railyard and the conductor runs through a switch and puts a car on the ground at 2 mph, or a conductor shoves his train into a track while forgetting about the derail device in that track, which also causes a small derailment. But massive train pileups out on the line of road at 30+ mph are not common - or at least they were uncommon before the Brandon years, where they now happen constantly. Massive catastrophic train derailments were not common until the last two years! I am a former conductor on the CSX. That smell of things burning outside is the true smell of left-wing progress! - The New Right" - Zerohedge on Montgomery County, PA Train Derailment
"But don't get caught dumping a quart of oil on the ground or in the water. You will be in big trouble" - Unknown
"It's remarkable to observe just how thoroughly Americans have been conditioned to believe that the State and Capital answers to them, when all evidence -- ALL EVIDENCE -- demonstrates the contrary, one-thousandfold. These people are sitting in a cancer tank and yelling at the politicians and railroad and banksters outside of it -- as if that will keep them from an early, miserable death." - Unknown
"Get the hell out. Live in a tent. Save yourself and your family, and worry about punishing the bastards later. I cannot believe these folks are still hanging around breathing it all in, poking dead fish with sticks and saying ‘See? See?’ as if that will protect them from the ravages of cancer. And no, I'm not blaming the victim. I'm trying to save the victims. But their naivete about the world will probably kill them." - Unknown
"As I recall my damage control and chemical warfare training in the Navy, first thing you do after a major chemicals spill -- let alone attack -- is send in guys in hazmat suits (today you use robots) to take samples. Chem testing is exceedingly fast these days, with mass spectrometers and gas chromatograph devices. And (theoretically) you know what was spilled cuz the railway was hauling it. So you nail down what's happening on scene, chem-wise. Only then do you send in work crews to start fixing stuff and get it all back into battery. But then, it's only Trump deplorable voters out there. And the trains must run on time." - Unknown (on the Ohio vinyl chloride spill after a train derailment)
"Canaries sent to the coalmine ... umm, the canaries stopped singing, is that a bad sign Mr. Buffet?" - Unknown (on the Ohio vinyl chloride spill after a train derailment)
"They aren’t going to get any PPE either. By properly equipping the workers to the hazards it’s an admittance of just how dangerous it is. It's a hell of a thing, having to choose between safety and your job." - Unknown (on the Ohio vinyl chloride spill after a train derailment)
"If one test comes back positive with Dioxin, the place needs to be evacuated. Deadliest chemical known to man in small amounts. That lasts billions of years. The place will be uninhabitable forever. Maybe whole counties and maybe a whole state. This isn’t a small spill. Worse than a nuclear bomb. At least radiation has a half life. Dioxin doesn’t." - Unknown (on the Ohio vinyl chloride spill after a train derailment)
d. Radiation/5G
---------------------------
"Apple, now with a radioactive core." - Unknown
"No worries, the US government would never let a harmful product go to market." - Unknown
"Buy the phone and shut up. Get fried and pay the corporations. Look down while we steal your money and lie to you about covid and ukraine. We got the next thing cooking you bette believe it, and you will!" - Unknown
"Electromagnetic radiation is a real problem. Do a little reading about the increase in cancerous tumors behind the ear. Telling the sheeple all is well when it's not is also designed to control." - Unknown
"One of my dad's friends grew a massive brain tumor right next to where his Bluetooth headset was, that he wore every day for over ten years. The doctors all claimed that was a coincidence. He died believing that the headset killed him. We believe he was right." - Unknown
"There is a warning buried deep in every phones documentation that it will exceed the legal radiation limit if it's withing 5mm of your body. I have never put these things up to my ear and I don't carry them in my pocket. That was before 5g, 5g is even worse. It has shorter range so it uses more power to transmit." - Unknown
"France did a study on why dairy cows stopped producing milk, and having offspring. The realized the herd was a stones throw from a cell phone tower. Don't be naive, dude." - Unknown
”People can still reduce radio frequency radiation exposure by:
- Not carrying phones in pockets or bras
- Using speakerphone and holding phones away from the head/body
- Keeping devices away from reproductive organs
- Using wired over WiFi internet
- Not sleeping near phones” - George Citroner via The Epoch Times
"Double the distance ... quarter the energy being received. Signal strength move it ... the energy level drops off as an inverse square law." - Unknown
"If you do nothing else, at least stop holding your phone against your ear, use your speaker!" - Unknown
"Shut your phone off at night, shut off your wifi router too, this stuff beams your brain while you sleep. I used to sleep terrible when I left this crap on at night, now I sleep like the dead." - Unknown
"Maybe you're onto something. Last night I left my phone in my car and didn't wake up once or twice during the night like I have been. I'll start putting my phone in my faraday bag at night and see how that works for me." - Unknown
"You don't even need to put it in a faraday bag, just don't have it in the same room as you sleep." - Unknown
"And do not have TV on either in your bedroom, no electronics in your bedroom will give you a restful sleep." - Unknown
"Up to Nov 2022 I never had any electronics in the bedroom and always slept well, when I made my move to Venezuela I got into the habit of having the phone in the bedroom, and my sleep became terrible, stopped sleeping through the whole night, waking up at 2 or 3 and can get back to sleep for 1-2 hours. About 4 weeks ago I figured out what was going on and leave the phone in my office, my home is all concrete walls. In the past 4 weeks I've only had 2 or 3 nights waking up in the middle of the night and those nights it was caused by dehydration, woke up thirsty, drank lots of water and got back to sleep in under an hour." - Unknown
"We take it one step further - no modern technology on the ground floor. Everything that looks like technology dates to midcentury. My radio was built in the 1930's, tv in 1949 and my stereo rig was made in 1960. The basement is where all the modern technology lives." - Unknown
"the time has come to return to those old brick phones.. the line up of iphones for sale at apple have 5g .. nothing less than 5 g.. this is a big issue and apple plowed into the 5g networks knowing this would be a problem.. consumers are left with no choice.. just buy a brick phone and live a less tech life.." - Unknown
"I used to be a huge apple fanboy in the early 2000's. I stopped being one so much after 'they' killed Jobs. Now that I am hearing about possible health effects of radio frequency radiation and the planned addiction of social media, I am likely to go back to in home hard line and flip phone. Wifi is already out of the house for most of a year." - Unknown
”My phone is at home, on the wall, where it should be. I won't pay for my own enslavement chains.” - Unknown
