Ch 14.12 - Republicans
"Any organization that is not explicitly and actively conservative by its very mission will always drift in the opposite direction." - Sullivan’s law
a. RINO’s
--------------------------
"So, Lone Starr, now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb" - Spaceballs
“Let me now state what seems to me the decisive objection to any conservatism which deserves to be called such. It is that by its very nature it cannot offer an alternative to the direction in which we are moving. It may succeed by its resistance to current tendencies in slowing down undesirable developments, but, since it does not indicate another direction, it cannot prevent their continuance. It has, for this reason, invariably been the fate of conservatism to be dragged along a path not of its own choosing." - Fredrick Hayek
"The problem with the Republican party is that it doesn't actually stand for anything. It's the same Democrat party just in slow motion. At the rate we're going if we elect Democrats, we will be a socialist country in 10 years. If we elect Republicans, it'll probably take 15 years. We need to do better." - Unknown
"Newt is an utter fraud. I remember when the Repugs controlled EVERYTHING and still couldn't reign in spending. Contract with America? Pfffft! That passed into the night like a wet fart." - Unknown
"The only thing I hate more than a Democrat is a Republican." - Unknown
"Give Republicans a yard, and they take an inch." - Unknown
"Republicans and wise. Two words you don't expect to see in the same sentence." - Unknown
"Let's be clear, those aren't Republicans in D.C. Those are Junior Varsity Democrats." - BradHuston
"Investigations > Hearings > Posturing > Bribes > Sternly-Worded Letters > Memory Hole" - Unknown
"Uh oh. Someone's getting a sternly written letter.
Blah Blah Blah investigation
Blah Blah Blah letter
Blah Blah Blah subpoena
Blah Blah Blah what were we talking about " - Unknown
"There is a reason why the GOP never goes beyond where they are now. It is all theatrics. This is not a 2 party system. This is one big gas-lighting F you to the American public. DC has set up media echo-chambers for each party affiliation which makes it seem like things are happening. But ask yourself, the Bidens were caught red-handed via the laptop, and absolutely nothing has happened to them. And likely nothing ever will. But these 'hearings' will continue for the purpose of looking like they are taking action." - Unknown
"Vivek Ramaswamy said the most true thing all evening: NBC should not be hosting. The debate should be hosted by the GOP itself and the questions should be asked by Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk, and Joe Rogan. It took me a few weeks to realize something. The questions were not stupid. They were part of a plot. Each question was designed, not to find difference between candidates, but rather to peel off support of some constituent bloc from supporting the GOP candidate whomever it might be. The entire event was a setup to harm the entire chances of the party." - Jeffrey Tucker via The Epoch Times on how each question asked at the debates was designed to alienate a potential constituency and how the candidates all took the bait.
"Republicans will 'reach across the aisle' to help elect a Democrat as the Speaker Of The House. (I've joked about this several times, but I'm not sure it's a joke anymore.)" - Unknown, on Republican failure to elect Jim Jordan speaker of the House
"Georgia's Republicans I think that you mention, aren't even RINOs so much as radical Democrats that have been processed through some kind of coaching seminar to have Republican haircuts, suits, speaking patterns after screening for having families that can be cleaned up to look wholesome and all-American." - Unknown
b. Libertarians
--------------------------
I love libertarianism. I used to be one. Letting each individual pursue their own self-interest and self-govern is my idea of utopia. For lots of reasons, libertarianism makes sense.
"I've never understood the political fear of Libertarians. Sure, they're not in power now, but someday they might take over and... uh, leave you alone, I guess, since that's kind of their whole deal. It's like being afraid of cats." - Edward Snowden
"There are generally two kinds of people in the world:
1) Those that want power over others, and
2) Those that just want to be left alone." - Unknown
America used to be far more libertarian than it is today. The poor were still provided for, and starvation was extremely rare despite much lower taxes and no organized welfare system.
"Those of libertarian bent often prove more generous than those of a socialist persuasion: where the socialist feels that it is government's job to look after the poor using taxes, libertarians think it is their duty." - Matt Ridley, The Rational Optimist
"I think you should pay for your own mortgage, birth control, college loans, food and cell phones. This isn't because I'm Conservative. It's because l'm an adult." - Unknown
"I saw a post I didn't agree with.
I didn't get offended.
I didn't comment.
I didn't feel the need to change their mind.
I still like the person.
I just kept scrolling and went on with my day.
More should practice this." - Unknown
"Human beings are born with different capacities. If they are free, they are not equal. And if they are equal, they are not free." - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
The problem with libertarianism and the reason why America isn't libertarian anymore is it ignores a parasite class of people who have the overwhelming urge to meddle in the affairs of others. These people are far more organized, financed, and ruthless than the libertarians. People who want to be left alone lack the cohesive social fabric needed to defend each other's interests. Hermits don't go to the mat for other hermits. They just get picked off one by one.
"And that, gentlemen, is why libertarians will lead you to the same ****ty outcomes as leftists. Because they won't stand for any moral bounds of society, think everyone should be allowed to run around like animals. And when it gets so deranged and deprived, they just 'Go Galt' and abandon what they didn't have a spine to defend." - Unknown
"Imagine thinking you hired a libertarian and getting a debt collector instead. Poor Argentinians. Not much better in the US. We are captured and think we have freedom." - Unknown
c. Anti-Communists
--------------------------
"I understand, I sense that you're tired. But you have not yet really suffered the terrible trials of the 20th century which have rained down on the old continent... You're tired, but the Communists who want to destroy your system are not; they're not tired at all.." - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
"So what you're saying is you wish to be 'left alone?' That will be the highest crime of all. You might as well fire off a flare announcing that you like to think for yourself. They'll drop on you worst of all." - Unknown
"They will never leave you alone. Why? Because you produce, they don't, and they need what you have. It's pretty simple, actually." - Unknown
"Libertarians believe the 'free market' will magically stop Communists. Anti-Communists understand Communists will use both the State and corporations to coerce and purge all non-Communists. Policies must be intentionally designed to be anti-Communist." - Unknown
"The only difference between Republicans and Democrats is the rate we progress toward communism. To have true opposition we need a policital party of Anti-Communists." - Unknown
"You conservatives don't get it. You give liberals an inch they take a mile. Your core beliefs are but speedbumps in the total destruction of western civilization." - Unknown
"What every Western country needs is a shot of RNA gene therapy... Rejuvenating Nationalist Antibodies. These little buggers will weed out the bolsheviks, greens, trannies, leftists, egalitarians, and every other pathogen infecting and ruining our nations and cultures today. All of these other 'parties' are mere bandaids on cancer. They will affect zero change." - Unknown
"Nobody ever defended something successfully. It’s only attack." - Michael Yon
