Ch 12.3 - Architecture
"Modern man is in a terrible predicament. He is helplessly enamored with the beauty of what the old world built, yet despises the beliefs that inspired them to build it." - Culture Critic
a. Architects
---------------------------
“Architects are always occupied with everything except architecture. That they should somehow solve the climate crisis. So we build these green buildings. We put grass on the roof or something silly like that. But the most significant contribution to CO2 emissions of a building is when it's built. So the classical way of building is more ecological than the modernist way because buildings last for hundreds of years. They don't last for thirty years, are torn down, and then you build a new building. But the modernists think that an ecological building is built with ecological materials. That's falsehood. A building is ecological when people want to preserve it. And we don't want to preserve ugly buildings; we tear them down.” - Unknown
b. Brutalism/Hostile Architecture
---------------------------
"It is no coincidence that no language has ever produced the expression: As pretty as an airport." - Douglas Adams
"Why would you put a kid in a room behind a desk when the sun is out for their whole entire childhood? Not put them in front of water, or ocean, or anything that inspires them? Dim lights. If you notice schools, jails, and hospitals all look exactly the same. Why wouldn't it be in something inspired? Why? Because it's a program to keep us controlled. You have to when you ahve to have order of the masses. You can monetize what they are doing. They never teach us how to pass laws and be politicians and that's the only way to make change. So it has to be strategic. So when the cycle continues over and over again without change it's either insanity or it's intentional." - Dame Dash
"Brutalism which means 'raw concrete' in French, is a style of architecture designed to intimidate, oppress, and destroy the cultural landscape of a society." - Unknown
"He called the buildings 'cold-hearted', 'inhuman', 'hideous' and 'monstrous'’ He stated that the reinforced concrete 'does not age gracefully but instead crumbles, stains, and decays'" - Anthony Daniels
"Everything's ugly. Why is that? I'll tell you why. It is because they don't want you to have any intrinsic attachment to a specific place. If all the buildings are beautiful in a specific town you have intrinsic attachment to that town. You care about that town. You want good things for that town. You'll protect that town. You'll defend that town. That's a barrier. That's a parameter. If everything looks the same all the time you'll just move. Who cares? They want to remove all your attachments from everything." - Andrew Tate interview with Patrick Bet David
"Hostile architecture - architecture designed to do one thing while preventing another thing. Warm air comes up out of ducts from the subway, but covers with uneven ridges/spikes placed over the ducts to prevent homeless people from sleeping on them so they can't keep warm during the wintertime. Benches removed from subways and replaced with benches which you can lean on or benches with armrests that prevent you from laying down (only purpose is for sitting). Removing subway benches does nothing to make people less homeless. Not one seat in the train station (unless you have a ticket and there's a one hour limit) so people put stuff on the floor. If you sit on the floor security will find you and make you stand up. All the steps of the post office in New York are roped off so no one can sit there. Zuccotti Park (ground zero for Occupy Wall Street) full of granite benches designed to get cold on purpose. Trees and flowerbeds strategically placed to prevent mass gatherings." - Unknown
"I know folks are saying, 'Oh they're just cleaning up this place because all those fancy leaders are coming to town.' That's true, because it's true." - Gavin Newsom on removing the homeless for the pending visit of the President of China to San Francisco
"At first I thought… the media was making a way bigger deal out of this than it needed to be. Of course, we needed to clean high-security zones. But then I realized they were cleaning outside those high-security zones. And then that Newsom clip surfaced, and it was abundantly obvious that they were cleaning because of optics and not security." - CrossFit Golden Gate gym owner Danielle Rabkin told FOX & Friends First
c. Great Buildings/Tartaria
---------------------------
"600 years ago we built cathedrals and now we build this crap. Why? Everything is on purpose. It's all a psyop." - Andrew Tate interview with Patrick Bet David
Great buildings (Tartaria) - Older buildings are typically built out of solid stone (often as part of a 'Worlds Fair'). Remember, these buildings were built before diesel engines, power tools, electricity, computers, and freeways. Somehow, they were constructed in 1 to 2 years, yet they are better built than buildings from today and far more pleasing to the eye.
1) Nashville Parthenon - 1897 - a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens. Originally built of plaster, wood, and brick,[6] the Parthenon was not intended to be permanent, but the cost of demolishing the structure combined with its popularity with residents and visitors alike resulted in it being left standing after the Exposition. Inside is a 42-foot-tall statue of Athena, who holds a 6-foot-tall statue of Nike in her right hand. More than 8 pounds of gold leaf were used in both.
2) Philadelphia City Hall - 1894 - the world's largest free-standing masonry building and was the world's tallest habitable building upon its completion. At 548 ft (167 m) it was also the tallest clock tower in the world when it was completed and is currently the 5th tallest building of this type. The tower features a clock face on each side that is 26 ft in diameter (larger in diameter than Big Ben which is 23 ft). The building is topped by a 37 ft bronze statue weighing 53,348 lb (27 tons) of city founder William Penn.
3) Texas State Capitol Building - 1885 - The Texas State Capitol is 303 feet tall and is the sixth-tallest state capitol (one of several taller than the United States Capitol).
And for those who think it can’t be done today, check out Hauwei’s Ox Horn Campus, situated on 300 acres. It features replicas of buildings in 12 different zones replicating architecture from European cities.
"Feels like you’re on holiday." - Unknown
c. Homelessness
---------------------------
"Let me explain why homelessness is an essential tool of Fascist Democrat politicians at the state and local level and why it’s a problem that will never get better so long as Democrats run our cities.
First, some background. It’s a story as old as Tammany Hall. Democrat politicians identify a “need”—real or imagined. Then, they solicit bids on a contract to meet that need, which is paid for by the taxpayers. The contractor whose bid wins is a friend or family with (or donor to) one or more Democrat politicians, and the contractor employs the friends and family of the same Democrat politicians, so ultimately, the taxpayers’ money flows back to the pockets of the Democrat politician, and it’s all legal of course. (Fani Willis’ hiring of her boyfriend in the Atlanta Trump trial is an excellent, small-scale example of this practice.)
What makes this difficult to do daily is that these contracts are usually for building tangible things like roads or buildings or providing essential services like trash collection, so it’s hard for the contractor to not show tangible results without getting in trouble. The margins on this sort of graft are small because, ultimately, the contractor must deliver.
But HOMELESSNESS… oh geez, that’s the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket of Fascist Democrat graft. Millions upon millions of dollars can be pumped into shelters, temporary housing projects, needle exchange programs, food distribution, mental health counseling, you name it. The supposed beneficiaries of these programs are usually mentally ill people on the fringes of society, so they are in no position to complain when only 10% of the program’s funding actually serves to benefit them. Moreover, it’s easy to show off some shiny set of rooms in a shelter for PR purposes, creating a Potemkin Village aura of success. Even better, non-profits and NGOs can get involved in this, which means the Mayor’s trust fund niece with a queer studies degree from Brown will be able to get in on the act too. And who can challenge the ethical purity and virtue of a non-profit run by such loving, caring, Fascist Democrats? Millions upon millions can be pumped into homelessness campaigns with virtually zero results, with millions going into the grafty pockets of Democrat pols and everyone in their circle, including contractors/donors who send that money right back to the pols. And if the public complains that the homelessness problem in the city is getting worse? WELL THEN. We need to throw more money at the problem, and the cycle continues.
This is why Fascist Democrat politicians at the state and local levels LOVE homelessness and never want it to go away. It’s the political golden goose laying infinite golden eggs. So the next time you drive by a homeless encampment in some Democrat s***hole city, realize the benefits that encampment provides some Fascist Democrat fat-cat politician, and why that encampment will never go away." - CynicalPublius
